British Touring Car driver Bobby Thompson of Team HARD Racing is now a Brand Ambassador and Content Producer for the new motorsport app, MotorMouth.
The new MotorMouth app is an exciting prospect for motorsport fans, offering a range of features to keep users occupied, thumbs scrolling and minds fuelled with all the latest trackside news and gossip; as well as the ability to interact with other users using the app’s in-house messaging and social media style functionality. With news feeds packed full of the latest motorsport news, live race times, and exclusive content provided by drivers and engineers from around the world of racing, Thompson’s addition as a brand ambassador and content producer is set to deliver genuine excitement & insight from behind-the-scenes in the BTCC.
Racing has been in the Thompson family for years, with Bobby’s Grandfather racing in the 1970s; and his father and uncle were also racing in the 1980s and 90s; inspiring Bobby to take up the sport when he was just 8 years old. The 22 year old had great success in the VW Racing Cup, being crowned champion in 2017, prior to joining Team HARD in 2018 and, as one of the youngest drivers in an established series, Bobby knows more than most the importance of embracing new technologies, social media, and new platforms like MotorMouth to expand his audience. Speaking of the new partnership, Thompson said:
“MotorMouth seemed like a great fit. Drivers are always looking for new ways to grow their following - we can do everything in our power to deliver on the track and make the racing as exciting and engaging as possible, but being able to share real, authentic action from the pit lane helps bring fans closer to the action. In turn, this should help us become more accessible. Fans can interact with us through social media, but this gives us somewhere more tailored to motorsport, and allows us to share more interesting content for the genuine fans out there.”
The Free app is set to compete against paid subscription offerings (like Motorsport.com, Motorsport.tv & Motorsport Magazine), and is going to offer access to unrivalled content from across the racing world. Featuring live times from Formula 1 (with Formula E and Indycar waiting in the wings), MotorMouth will allow its users to be the most informed and up-to-date; whilst the social functionality (such as the ability to like, share, and comment on users’ posts alongside the exclusive content from featured suppliers) and community aspect is what makes it more than ‘just another news feed’.
Tim Silvey, CEO of MotorMouth explained: “Partnering with Bobby is just the start, he’s a great asset for the MM team and is sure to bring some really engaging content to the platform. We’ve got a number of exciting drivers and techies from behind the scenes of a range of race series who want to come on board; along with television presenters and YouTubers, to really bring motorsport news kicking and screaming into today’s modern, social, connected world. It’s really exciting to be able to secure and deliver exclusive content through our own app for genuine motorsport fans to consume; but more importantly, to give fans a platform to share their views and opinions about the content with like-minded people”
In addition to providing exclusive content for the platform, MotorMouth branding will appear on Thompson’s BTCC Volkswagen CC and race helmet; and there will also be opportunities for lucky users of the app to meet Thompson in the pit-box at BTCC races throughout the season through a range of prize draws.
The MotorMouth app is now recruiting ‘test drive’ users for the pre-launch, giving exclusive early access to a small selection of avid motorsport fans. Users wishing to get their hands on the app first can register at https://testdrive.motormouth.club now to take advantage of the opportunity.
